Richard (Dick) T. Post, a former Upper Nyack resident died on April 30, 2001. He was 68. Born in Nyack on November 11, 1932 to Chester and Marion Post. Dick graduated from Nyack High School in 1950 he entered the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict, where he received the Bronze Star. He was employed as the manager of Beckerle Lumber Yard in West Nyack for many years before the Palisades Center was built at that location. He worked at various lumber yards for Beckerle Lumber including Haverstraw, Congers, and Orangeburg. He was a member of the Palisades Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his brother Gerald and his wife Virginia of Warwick, NY, an aunt Connie Pinkus of Upper Nyack and several cousins, including Alan Frae of South Nyack, Roberta Mathsen of Nanuet, Harold Post of Huston, TX, Josephine Cole of Orangeburg, Barbara Ann Edwards of Irasburg, VT, Robert Post and Bettey Kolensburg, both of Berlin, MD. Visiting will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc., in Nyack, NY. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack. Donations in his memory may be made to one?s choice.
