Marcey Mascola Obituary On December 16, 2025, Mary Alice Mascola ( nee Beckerle) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her West Nyack home where she lived for 70 years. “Marcey” was born in Hackensack Hospital, New Jersey in 1927. She was raised in Spring Valley, New York where she lived until marriage. Her father, Laurence, was the founder of Beckerle Lumber (1940). Her mother, Ellen Catherine McEntegart, was a member of the first full graduating class of the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Marcey was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Anne Beckerle, Joan Beckerle Quinn and Laurence T. Beckerle Jr ( Pete). Marcey attended Spring Valley High School and later graduated from Mount Saint Vincent Academy in Tuxedo Park, New York. She, like her mother and her sister Joan, graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent (1949). Marcey went on to earn her Master’s degree in Education from New Paltz College in 1952. Marcey married Francis Xavier Mascola (Frank) at St. Joseph's Church in Spring Valley in 1952. They were married for 66 wonderful years before Frank passed away in 2018. Marcey and Frank were parents of five children, Maureen and husband Joseph Rose of Amesbury, MA, Thomas More and wife Karen (Albert) of Nanuet, Francis Jr ( Teddy) and wife Christine (Flood) of Blauvelt, James (deceased 2003), Susanne and husband Thomas Humbach of West Nyack. Marcey was a devoted grandma to Jay Rose (wife Nadine), Geoffrey Rose (wife Jacklyn), Brett Albert ( wife Alix), Conor Mascola (wife Macarena), Paul Albert ( wife Jen), Darcy Rose, Pearse Mascola ( fiancee Shan Jamison), Jack Humbach, Will Humbach, Teddy Mascola, and Eugene Mascola. Marcey was also blessed to have had 4 great grandchildren, Giana, JT, Emma, and Addie. She is also survived by her many devoted nieces and nephews. Marcey loved teaching. Her first job was at the little Red Schoolhouse in Pomona. Marcey was proud to have taught kindergarten in the Nauraushaun School in Pearl River for 5 years. After raising her children, Marcey worked part time as an administrative payroll employee at Beckerle Lumber for 20 years. Marcey showed her athleticism by participating in competitive cheerleading, equestrian, water ballet, tennis, but swimming was her passion. In between raising 5 children, Marcey found time to be a Cub Scout den mother, Class / PTA mom, and Republican Committee person. Marcey and Frank spent many years as season ticket holders at West Point football games. Together, they were avid travelers, visiting every continent except Antarctica and Australia. Marcey & Frank were also known for their world cruise adventures and years of “happy hours” as snow birds on Hutchinson Island, Florida. Marcey was an active member of the Nyack Field Club and maintained her social membership at the Rockland Country Club until recently. After suffering a stroke in 2023, Marcey became a valued member of the Adler Aphasia Center of Maywood, New Jersey. She was beloved by her family, friends and those who came to know her for all of her ninety eight years.
